A service point for departure tax refund and currency exchange was put into operation on October 31 at the waiting areas for international passengers at Tianfu International Airport of Chengdu, a move of the airport to upgrade its services to offer more convenience for overseas tourists.

The new facility, located next to No.117 boarding gate of Terminal 1 at the airport, provides services covering departure tax refund and currency exchange. The departure tax refund includes VAT (value added tax) service, while the currency exchange covers exchange in cash.
Tianfu International Airport has launched the Foreigner Payment Center, Departure Tax Refund Center, Foreign Currency Exchange shops (each at the Departure Hall, Arrival Hall, and the waiting area for international passengers), foreign currency exchange machines and ATMs supporting internationally accepted bank cards to withdraw RMB, providing 7×24 services covering phone card registry, currency exchange, account opening of debit cards on reservation, cash withdraw from ATMs, and assistance to open the mobile payments.

All the outlets at the airport have adequate supply of cash to ensure the currency exchange in cash and support diversified payment modes, such as payments with internationally accepted bank cards and mobile payments.
