The first International Business Talent Service Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) officially opened at Qianhai Block V on Nov. 22.

As the talent arm of the Shenzhen International Business e-Station, the center will create a professional service system that integrates employment, training, services, and resource matching.

Chen Shuang, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Qianhai International Talent Service Center Co. Ltd., said Qianhai will accelerate the development of a three-in-one overseas talent service system centered on a physical service center, a visual service map, and a suite of modular service packages.

“By building teams of overseas-ready professionals with international perspectives and practical skills, the initiative will help GBA companies expand into overseas markets and support the global expansion of the region’s manufacturing sector,” she said.

The event also included a talent matchmaking fair aimed at supporting overseas expansion. More than 41 well-known companies offering overseas positions brought 1,160 quality job openings and connected with more than 1,500 foreign nationals living on the Chinese mainland, as well as young people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Jon Kolodychuk, a Canadian currently studying at Peking University, said he flew to Shenzhen to attend the event because he believes Shenzhen is the best city in China to live in and hopes to work here after graduation.

“The tech sector offers the best opportunities right now — it’s very diverse and will define the 21st century. My background is in management consulting, so I think I can use those skills to bring a lot of value to companies here,” he said.

Bonnie Lin, a representative of Insta360, said the company was recruiting for marketing, sales, and online engineering positions. “We collected many excellent resumes and really appreciate the chance to connect with international candidates. More than 20% of our marketing team is foreign — we have a very diverse environment,” she said.

Attendees gather outside Qianhai Block V for a talents connect fair, where cultural activities, prize giveaways, and networking zones created a lively atmosphere.

The event also creatively fused technology and culture, staging a fair that highlighted intangible cultural heritage while featuring robot demos, tech product launches, photo opportunities with domestic cultural IP, heritage displays, and coffee networking. The mix allowed international talent to engage with companies in a relaxed atmosphere.
