Guangdong encourages foreign investment in hospitals and elderly care facilities
Among the 18 proposals outlined, several relate closely to foreign nationals in Guangdong, such as easing market access for service trade sector by launching pilot programs for foreign-invested hospitals and encouraging overseas investors to establish elderly care facilities in the province. The initiatives also aim to open specific professional qualification examinations and employment opportunities to foreign professionals, as well as to promote international mutual recognition of vocational qualifications.
These proposals are part of the initiative titled "Implementation Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of Digital Trade and Service Trade with High-Level Opening Up," which was published on January 4. More→

Shenzhen will upgrade the functions of the Free Trade Account
Shenzhen will optimize and upgrade the functions of the Free Trade Account (FT Account) and promote the trial of the electronic bill of lading (eBL) in the shipping and trade sectors. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce on January 9, nine cities across the country, including Shenzhen, will be tasked with implementing 159 pilot measures, targeting key areas of the services sector such as telecommunication, healthcare and financial services to further open up China's services sector. Guangdong offers 20 million yuan in cultural tourism coupons to attract domestic and international visitors for the upcoming New Year festive season
The campaign, which began on December 26, 2025, covers key periods including New Year's Day, Spring Festival, and the Lantern Festival. The first phase of coupons is being distributed from December 26 to January 22 and can be used for services provided by local travel agencies, hotels, scenic spots, and performance tickets, as well as various cultural tourism products.
