The 2025 Fortune Global 500 list was announced yesterday. Three companies from Suzhou - Hengli Group, Shenghong Holding Group, and Jiangsu Shagang Group - made the list, ranking 81st, 161st, and 416th, respectively.
The Fortune Global 500 is a prestigious list measuring the comprehensive strength and global competitiveness of large companies around the world. Rankings are based on factors such as return on sales and equity, earnings, and capitalization.
Hengli has now made the list for nine years in a row. Founded in 1994, the group specializes in refining, petrochemicals, new polyester materials, and textiles.
Shenghong moved up 10 spots from last year and entered the list for the sixth consecutive year. Since going into operation in 1992, it has grown into an international hi-tech group engaged in petrochemical refining, new energy, new materials, and high-end textiles.
Jiangsu Shagang Group was listed for the 17th year in succession. Established in Zhangjiagang in 1975, the group is a national super-large private steel enterprise, a national innovative enterprise, and an international conglomerate with a focus on steel and diversified development.
