Jun 12, 2025

Suzhou

According to the announcement by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) on June 9, five 125-level tournaments are added to the calendar in China. From September 29 to October 5 this year, the Suzhou WTA 125 will be held at the newly constructed Sungent International Tennis Center in the city, which is set to officially open soon.

Located in the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort, the tennis center is currently the city's largest international-standard tennis site with the most courts and comprehensive auxiliary facilities. Covering an area of 8,788 square meters, the tennis center features eleven tennis courts (nine hard courts and two clay courts) built to international competition standards. It caters to the diverse needs of professional players and tennis enthusiasts alike.

The center boasts hard courts identical to those of the Australian Open. Its central court is equipped with 1,000 spectator seats, capable of hosting various international tournaments. It also boasts clay courts that match the standards of the French Open, offering tennis enthusiasts a supreme international tennis experience.

Beyond that, the tennis center is equipped with all-weather windproof and rainproof shelters, a professional physical training area, locker rooms, and shower facilities to ensure professional support for players and events.

To provide spectators with a one-stop tourism experience, the tennis center is equipped with a five-star Sheraton Hotel, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year. Among 162 guest rooms as a whole, half of the rooms face the Yangcheng Lake, offering panoramic lake views, while the other half face the tennis center, allowing guests to watch matches directly from their room balconies.

The tennis center will leverage the ecological, cultural, and tourism resources of the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort to roll out unique "sports+travel" activities, offering visitors immersive experiences that promote tourism and sports.
