China and Italy have taken a new step forward in education cooperation with the launch of a short-term study program on drone application technology in Tianjin.
Initiated by Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College and Italy's Jobs?Academy, the program brings 14 Italian students to China for a 15-day immersive training course?—?marking the first vocational education collaboration between the two countries in the low-altitude economy sector.
The curriculum is tailored to international standards, aligning with both Chinese and European Union?drone regulations. Developed in partnership with industry leaders such as DJI, it combines theory, hands-on training, and real-world applications, with practical sessions accounting for 70 percent of the course. Upon completion, students will receive certificates linked to globally recognized skill qualifications.
Beyond technical training, the program also emphasizes cultural exchange. Students will learn basic Chinese, explore China's national conditions, and visit drone companies to better understand the country's fast-growing low-altitude economy.
The?initiative also includes aerial photography training combined with local tourism. Participants will visit landmarks such as Tianjin Museum, Ancient Cultural?Street, and the Haihe River, experiencing the city's unique mix of Chinese and Western influences.
