Haitang Chunwu (Spring Yard of Chinese Flowering Crabapple) is named after the crabapple flower (haitang) and the season of spring (chun), perfectly capturing its essence. Two crabapple trees bloom vibrantly in early spring, with delicate petals resembling the shy charm of a young maiden. The yard is paved with pebbles in blue, red, and white arranged in patterns of crabapple blossoms.

Crabapple trees are scattered throughout the Lingering Garden: one on the east and west sides of the Wufengxian Hall, one behind the Guanyun Peak, five near Youyicun's moon gate, and three in the east garden corner.

Planted beside arched doorways and along whitewashed walls, their blossoms contrast beautifully with the garden's timeless textures.

By the pool is a weeping crabapple tree. Its petals are nearly translucent under sunlight.

The Chinese flowering quince on the south side of the Pine-Watching and Painting-Appreciating Hall offers a striking display—red and white blooms cascade like a painted scroll around the Zhenyi Gate.
