On November 12, 2023, the annual survey Amazing China -- the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Expats 2022 unveiled its results.

A total of 42 sample cities were selected, and a total of 6,095 valid questionnaires were collected. Cities were evaluated by three dimensions: job satisfaction, living convenience, and environmental friendliness.

Looking at the performance of each city in the three evaluation dimensions, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou received the highest ratings for job satisfaction. Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou were rated highest for living convenience, while Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou received the highest ratings for environmental friendliness.
