Yunlu Palace on Yuelu Mountain's peak, is the 23rd Blessed Taoist Land, also called Dongzhenxu (meaning Eastern True Abode). Prince JiJian of the Ming Dynasty established it in 1478 when he was assigned toChangsha. In front of the palace, a 700-year-old ginkgo tree still thrives, its leaves shining gold over the green mountain in autumn. Behind thepalace, the Wangxiang Pavilion offers a breathtaking view of ChangshaCity, inspiring the poem lines: "Rain drapes the river in silvery mist, whilethe solitary city stands out against the green hills across the shore."
