Ganxi Residence, also known as Ganxi Former Residence or Ganjia Grand Courtyard, was first built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and is commonly known as the "Ninety Nine and a Half Rooms". Along with the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and the Ming City Wall, it is one of the three major landscapes of the Ming and Qing dynasties in Nanjing. It is the largest and most well preserved private residence of the late Qing Dynasty in Nanjing. Located at No.15, No.17, No.19 South Fishing Hall and No.42 Dabanxiang in Qinhuai District.

The Nanjing Folk Customs (Intangible Cultural Heritage) Museum is a professional museum that studies, displays, and protects Nanjing's folk culture and intangible cultural heritage. It is also the first "dual museum" of folk customs and intangible cultural heritage in China. The site of the museum is the Ganxi Residence, a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is the former residence of Gan Xi, a famous literati and local chronicler in the Qing Dynasty. It was first built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and covers an area of nearly 10000 square meters. It is currently one of the larger and more well preserved Qing Dynasty residential buildings in large and medium-sized cities in China. Each residence in the courtyard showcases Nanjing's folk culture and intangible cultural heritage, allowing citizens and tourists to experience more than ten municipal level intangible cultural heritage projects such as folk fabrics, knots, Qinhuai lanterns, and appreciate the unique charm of Nanjing Baiju and Jiangnan silk and bamboo. Ganxi Mansion is now a national key cultural relic protection unit.
